Shout out to Mom for listening to public radio this afternoon and catching our old buddy John on Fresh Air (about 19 minutes). Terry Gross sounds very perfunctory, very suspicious. Shame on her.

Besides John, how many writers do you know of who have addressed this or any related subject without an axe to grind? None? That's my experience as well. So, I'm not surprised that the left-leaning NPR host might be suspicious of Dr. C's motivation and viewpoint. (Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with a left-leaning viewpoint...) P.
I lean slightly Left of Center in many areas, thank you very much. I simply wished to point out that anyone associated with Public Broadcasting is likely to be suspicious of a white guy who writes about Confederate flags. (...since such a demographic suggests what JMC might call a Confederato.) Further, such suspicion would often be justified. P.
