Last night, S and I went to hear
Donna Brazile at the University of Richmond. She was interesting and re-affirming on many liberal issues. She does seem prepared, however, to choose Democratic candidates for charisma first, then smarts, noting that all that stuff I take to be Bush's idiocy many people feel makes him approachable and likeable. He's the president. He needs to be intellectual, a complex-thinker, compassionate, and capable -- not likeable.

Well, since the Prez is the face and voice of America overseas, he needs to be BOTH personable AND capable.
Is it asking too much for a Chief Executive who isn't a liar, crook, womanizer, idiot, 'tool' (of whatever interest group), or just plain international embarrassment?
