This Walter Benjamin article is the first thing in a long time that I am going to need to read twice. Is it his prose or his politics that keep tripping me up?

I didn't even get a chance to post, over there on the right, that I sent a resume to the local ITT-Tech -- and I just set up an interview. Wheee!

I
Benjamin opens with a description of Marxist theory as predictive. We have all seen that Marx used certain fundamentally flawed assumptions in formulating his theories. This predisposes me to disregard pretty much anything he says.

II
He writes in a language painfully similar to the Pedagoguese of my Teacher-Ed days. This reinforces my tendency to disregard his writing.

III
He spends a lot of time rehashing common-knowledge history of the reproduction of various forms of art.

I refuse to read any more.
