Bigfoot book highlighted on boingboing (thanks VJ!).
Knitting *and* Wil Wheaton, here. (Thanks to Steph S., who sent me here first: a blog -- very popular if high comments numbers are a good gauge -- of ugly knitting projects.)
Governor-elect Kaine's inaguration will be in Williamsburg, at the (not original) colonial capitol. Alas, I believe I work that Saturday.
Capital City weather: cold, cold rain

Not quite sure how I feel about the Williamsburg inauguration. Nice connection to W&M, but: Richmond is the Capital, after all. Perhaps my view is colored by the fact that my tenure in Williamsburg was spent using every available opportunity to visit Richmond.
With the Capitol under renovation, I guess the choices were CW or the convention center, and the former lends a little more gravity.
Dude... you did NOT make a knitting joke! Gauge?! Oh man!
And a Merry Kitchmas to you!
Oh, give me a break. The Queen of the James is just full of groovy places for an inauguration. What about the Carillon? Libbie Hill? Close off a couple of blocks of Franklin street, and do the shindig from the balconies of the Presidential Suite at the Hotel Jeff. Or--this would warm my warpy li'l heart--the Mosque!!! How far wrong could you go with an inauguration to the tune of "Turkish Towel" played on that asthmatic Wurlitzer?
I think Bigfoot should knit the Governor a comfy sweater for the inauguration....(how's that for tying all three topics together into a conversation?)
